Steven Marc Bazer was born June 29, 1948 and died January 26, 2025. A beloved grandson, son, husband, father, and grandfather, he leaves behind his wife of fifty-three years, Sara, sons Adam and Josh, daughters-in-law Beth and Caisie, and grandchildren Emilie, Ari, Ryan, CeCe, and Zach. A gentleman curmudgeon. A hoarder of trivia. A reverent reader. A mustachioed maven. Graduate of DeWitt Clinton Elementary School, Mather High School, University of Illinois-Chicago, and DePaul Law School. In addition to his requitied, half-century love of his wife, he had an essentially unrequited, multi-decade yearning for a winning Bears season. Overjoyed to see the billy goat curse broken. Amongst the joy he shared with the world, he will be missed for his sarcastic sense of humor, his voracious coffee consumption, his deep patience in waiting for his wife to finish a story, and his role as a purveyor of near-pristine condition paperbacks to his network of family and friends. Steven is in his happy place now, joining his beloved Grandpa Will in the front seat of Will’s Cadillac, tooling around heaven touring all its wonders.
