My sincere condolences to the family on the loss of a brilliant lawyer, loving family man and dear friend. I had the honor of working with Steve throughout these past 16 years in my role of General Counsel. He provided thoughtful counsel, critical analyses, and a calm presence that always provided an assurance of victory.   He will certainly be missed.

We all remember Steve with deep love and admiration. After a brave and determined battle with pancreatic cancer, he leaves behind a legacy defined not by his illness, but by how fully and generously he lived.  He was a devoted family man - cherishing his large, loving family and delighting in the their lives that will be forever enriched by his presence.  To my uncle and aunt, he was far more than a son-in-law - he was the son they never had - bound to them by love, respect and mutual devotion.  His absence leaves an immense void but his spirit will live on in the lives he touched!

My deepest sympathies are with you. Steve was my mentor and good friend. It is hard to convey how much of an impact he had on my life.  He took the time to help me and countless others on our path as attorneys. I’ll never forget his attention to detail, care, and most importantly, the calm and grace he brought to tough situations.  He was tremendously respected by his colleagues, clients, judges, and opposing counsel. While he was one of the hardest workers I’ve ever known, he also taught me that family is what matters most. He was so proud of each and every one of you. I hope you find comfort and peace in his memory.

Since that first time we met in the 90's we knew you would become a close friend. Your sincerity to do the best you could to help whenever we needed and your thoughtfulness to guide us with such wisdom and care always touched our hearts. We are proud to call you friend and family. You have a place in our hearts always and so does Susie.

Steve was my boss at occasional times. He led from the front always working as hard or harder than anyone under his leadership. He was a smart and careful lawyer. Out of court he always had his sleeves rolled up, as I did. He got all the way to the bottom of esoteric legal issues and taught those of us younger than him how to do that and why it was important to do so. My sincere condolences.

I remember dancing with him when I was a kid at Susie & Steve’s wedding — and then seeing Steve goof around with my daughter decades later (a fun memory for Felicity and how she will remember him).  Steve taught me how to shoot a gun at flying clay discs — it’s a lot harder than it looks. Steve has been a sounding board and resource over the years. This past year he coached me on what I could say to the judge to get out of jury duty when it was my turn to be questioned. I will really miss him. He was always friendly, upbeat, energetic, playful, and adventurous with a great sense of humor who could relate to everyone. I will hold these memories of the biggest kid I know in my heart where he will live on. Sending condolences to Susie and the rest of the family. Thinking about you during this difficult time.

My deepest condolences, I remember him fondly. He was always so sweet and kind to me. May your tears of sadness turn to happy thoughts of how sweet and caring he was  and all the beautiful memories you have again. My deepest condolences.

My uncle was one of the best men I will ever know he was funny, wise, fair, and loving. His family and my aunt were his pride and joy. It’s a privilege when he loved you, and I cannot believe he is not on this earth anymore to tickle the grandkids or great nephew till they laughed so hard they turned red, pick up my aunt fully clothed and jump into a pool with her, or even just talk to My deepest condolences to all of the grandkids, cousins and spouses, and most of all my aunt

I am fortunate to have known and worked with Steve for many years.  His professionalism, integrity, and positivity was not only inspiring, but was uplifting to everyone he worked with.   

Beyond his legal expertise and contributions, he was a treasured friend.  His legacy will remain in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Farewell my friend; you will be missed.

An honor to know Steve. Affable and sensible, he also knew when it was time to get tough, a trait I admired thoroughly. My heart goes out to his family and colleagues who loved him dearly. With a heavy heart, I wish him Godspeed on his next journey.

I am so sorry to hear about Steven!!I have fond memories of spending holidays together as a kid with the whole Gistenson/Kalish/Greenspan/Field families!
