Susan Elizabeth DiPietro

Susan DiPietro of Lake Zurich, IL - A Celebration of Life for Susan DiPietro, 73, will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 26, 2026 at Citizens Park, 511 N. Lake Zurich Road, Barrington, IL 60010.

Susan Elizabeth DiPietro (nee Glaser) was born on July 31,1952 in Chicago, Illinois and passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2026.

Susie was an incredibly compassionate, witty, funny, and sensitive person, with a lifelong love of crafting. She had a passion for sewing award winning Halloween costumes for her children, handmaking jewelry and creating art. “Garage sale-ing” and thrifting were her favorite activities, as she truly enjoyed searching for furniture and treasures that she could transform into something new.

Embracing a deep love of travel and adventure, she enjoyed exploring destinations across the country and around the world. Her children have many cherished memories of family vacations, singing the oldies on road trips, going to the movies or beach, and exploring all around the City of Chicago.

Professionally, Susie was very proud of a highly accomplished career as an insurance executive, spanning more than 40 years. Equally passionate about politics and social justice, she attended many marches and demonstrations throughout her life. She adored animals and cared for many dogs and cats, considering them beloved members of her family.

Susie was constantly finding new and imaginative ways to teach, entertain, and care. She will be remembered for her strength, sense of humor, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends. Her legacy lives in the love and values she created and the lives she touched so deeply. She will be dearly missed.

Susie is survived by her adoring children, Rebecca Olszanski (Edward) and Victoria DiPietro (Michael Reyes). She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Martin Glaser, and her brother, Lawrence Glaser.
