Thomas S Schlau

Thomas S. Schlau, age 73, passed away surrounded by family on April 7, 2026. Beloved husband of Sherry (née Rosenstein) Schlau, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories. He was a proud and devoted father to his daughters, Amanda (Jeff) Edelman and Alexis (Daniel Cain) Schlau. Nothing brought him greater joy than being Grandpa to his treasured grandchildren, Zachary Edelman and Charlotte Cain. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Ricki Schlau and Rosanne Abraham, many nieces and nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Dorothy Schlau; his brothers, Robert Schlau, Jr., James Schlau, and his sister, Mary Tresnak.

Thomas had a deep love for the simple pleasures in life. He enjoyed fishing and was a natural storyteller, known for his memorable tales. A passionate sports fan, he rarely missed a chance to cheer on the Chicago White Sox and the Chicago Bears, and he also loved watching NASCAR races.

As per Thomas’s wishes, no formal services will be held. The family will plan a celebration of life at a later date
