

Yoram Braginsky, 90, a Holocaust survivor, refugee, and Exodus ship passenger passed away on November 16, 2024. An Israeli citizen and proud Zionist, he served as a Staff Sergeant with the Israel Defense Force, Golani unit.
Yoram received his Bachelor's Degree in Architecture at University of Illinois. He was a licensed practicing architect for many organizations and companies with over 30 years of service. He eventually started his own business, Technical and Scientific Translations, which he ran from his home.
A speaker and writer of Russian, Hebrew, and English, Yoram was a member of B’nai Emunah Jewish Congregation of Skokie, Illinois. He was a teacher, author, painter, constant reader, gardener, and photographer. As a homeowner and family provider, he was also a caretaker to many pampered pets, from cats to multiple German Shepherds. Among his interests, Yoram was a Mercedes-Benz enthusiast and owner, as well as a lover of fine French food, wine, and classical music.
The only son to father Gregory, mother Cecilia and stepmother Lydia, he was husband to devoted wife Judy; father to sons Rami and Ariel; father-in-law to Nafanua and Jennifer; grandfather to Alex, Fransina, Keahi, Christian, Preciousz, Sosiua and Roland; great grandfather to Melaia; friend and extended family member to the distinguished Aivao, Savusa, and Patu families of Samoa.
