Arturo was born on July 27, 1932, in Brawley, California to Pedro Amaya Tiscareño and María Loreto Rabago Rojas. As the eldest of seven siblings, Arturo grew up in Mexicali Baja Ca. and embraced responsibility from an early age and served as a guiding example to his brothers Ruben, Hector, Raul, Oscar, Pedro Ignacio and his only sister Maria Elena Amaya Rabago.
On July 3, 1956, Arturo married the love of his life, Maria Elena Rodriguez Herrera. Together they built a strong and loving family founded on faith, hard work, devotion, and perseverance. Their marriage was blessed with three children: Gladys, Arturo Jr., and the youngest son Oscar Amaya, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy.
Arturo lived a plentiful and meaningful life marked by dedication to his family, strong values, and a generous spirit. In 1971 he relocated with his family to California, where he remained for the rest of his life in the South Bay area and there, he had an encounter with the Lord and Saviour Jesus and started attending church with his family ever since. He worked to provide for his family and was known for his wisdom, kindness, and unwavering commitment to those he loved.
Above all, Arturo kept his faith in God and cherished his family. He found great joy in spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Whether sharing stories, offering guidance, or simply enjoying family gatherings, he treasured every moment with them. His love for his children grandchildren and great-grandchildren was boundless, and they were among his greatest blessings and proudest accomplishments.
Those who know Arturo will remember him for his strength of character, his passion for singing and the countless ways he supported and encouraged others. He lived for the Lord and had a prayerful life as he started each new day in gratitude. He leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and family unity that will continue through future generations.
Arturo is survived by his beloved wife, Maria Elena Amaya; his children, Gladys Serrano, Arturo Amaya Jr., and Oscar Amaya; his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his siblings, extended family members, and many friends whose lives were touched by his kindness and example.
Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find comfort in the memories we share and the enduring legacy he leaves behind. Arturo will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
*"Those we love don't go away; they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always nearby.
Grandpa, (Tata) whenever we hear a song that reminds us of you, we will smile. We will remember your voice, your faith, and the love you gave so generously. We thank God for your testimony. Until we meet again, we will carry your memory in our hearts. We love you deeply.
