Arturo was born on September 12, 1960, in Jocotepec, Guadalajara, Mexico. He was the first-born of David Jimenez Valentin and Epifania Cortes Dimas, and he lived his childhood and young adult years in the neighboring city of Nextipac with his eleven younger brothers and sisters.
Arturo met his loving wife, Ana Jimenez Luvian, in 1980 at a restaurant they both worked at. They married four years later on August 4th 1984 in Jocotepec, Jalisco, Mexico. From their happy union three sons were born, Arturo Jimenez Jr, Victor H. Jimenez, and Daniel A. Jimenez.
Arturo came to the United States in 1987, where he joined his sister and her family in Torrance, California. As it is with many immigrant families he had to make the difficult decision of leaving his wife and sons behind while he forged a path for them to join him and with the grace of God he was able to finally reunite with them in 1990. Arturo, Ana, Arturo (Jr.), Victor, and Daniel maintained a strong family bond and finally settled in their forever home in Carson, California.
Arturo was a loving man who found peace and devotion in God. He was not one to miss his Sunday masses every week and was the first to lead a prayer when his family and friends most needed it. Arturo took pride in sponsoring the yearly celebration of his childhood home’s patron saint and, when circumstances allowed, he joyously traveled and partook in the organization of the event.
Arturo was a kind man with a huge heart that had nothing but joy and goodwill towards all that he encountered. He is remembered by his wife as a loving husband, by his children as a supporting father, by his granddaughter, Liliana Jimenez, as a joyous Poppa, by his parent as a dutiful son, to his brothers and sisters as a protective older brother and “compadre,” and to his friends as a generous man.
Arturo’s beautiful life will be forever cherished in the lives of his wife, sons, granddaughter, parents, brothers, sisters and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
