Elvira passed away peacefully on Oct 8, 2013 in Torrance, CA. Elvira was born on April 13, 1929 in Catalina Island, CA. She was raised in Hermosillo, MX with her 7 brothers and 3 sisters. In Mexico she worked as a telephone operator. At age 19 she returned to the United States. She then worked at Starfish Canneries for 30 years and retired as a supervisor. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years Adolph H Negrete, Children, Beatrice Negrete, Adolph Negrete Jr, Annabell Negrete Duke, Jessica Negrete Rodriguez, Esther Negrete Ralph. She has 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Elvira loved to cook, water her plants and everyone loved her beans. She was so beautiful and classy. She was kind and generous. She always welcomed everyone in need to her home. She will greatly be missed. Grandma Vera was our angel here on earth. May she rest in peace. There will be a viewing from 5-9PM on Wed. 10/16 at McNerney’s Mort. in Wilmington. There will be a funeral mass at 10AM on Thur. 10/17 at St. Peter & Paul church.
