Felicitas Uribe Somera passed away on November 3, 2012 in Torrance surrounded by her loving family at the age of 100. A Carson resident since the 1940s, she is survived by her daughters Alicia Juarez and Lidia Deretich, grandchildren: Susan Gama, Patsy Uribe, Miguel ‘Boy’ Uribe, Juanita Paramo, Monica Deretich, Felicia Deretich and Daniel Deretich, and 8 Great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, and son Miguel Uribe. Felicitas was a poet at heart, and always giving. A longtime participant of the Carson Clowners and a recipient of ‘Sheroe’ award from the city of Carson and a special Happy Birthday from President Obama.
Her vigil will be on Mon. Nov. 12 at St. Philomena Church in Carson from 5-8PM, and the funeral mass Tue Nov 13 at 10:30AM at St. Philomena, followed by a Christian Burial at All Souls Cemetery in Long Beach.
