Jack passed on March 15, 2010. He is survived by his loving wife, Betty Baldonado-Slater; children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jack served in the United States Army for 43 years. Jack also worked as a longshoreman out of I.L.W.U. Local 13. He was one of the charter members of the Road Kings Car Club of Wilmington. Jack enjoyed camping, fishing, family gatherings, traveling and UCLA football games. Jack was a member of the Elks Lodge #966 from 1984 to 1998. He looked forward to the annual tour to see the mariachis in Tucson, Arizona. Jack Slater will be missed but never forgotten. A viewing will be held on Sunday, March 21, 2010 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel McNerney's. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, March 22, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter and St. Paul Catholic Church. Interment immediately following at All Souls Catholic Cemetery.
