It is with a heavy heart that I share the news of my mom's passing on October 16, 2024, at 8:10 AM. Paula M. De Haro was not just a beloved mother but a cherished member of our community, known for her warmth and dedication as a waitress for many years. On October 4, I took her to Torrance Memorial Medical Center, believing it was a minor issue. Little did we know, this would lead to a devastating diagnosis of acute myeloid leukemia after a series of tests and a painful journey.
In her final days, she remained coherent and hopeful, expressing her desire to fight and survive. Despite our hopes and her brave spirit, she passed peacefully surrounded by my dad and me, as I prayed for her.
To honor her legacy, we are seeking support to cover her memorial services. Any contribution, no matter how small, would mean the world to us as we navigate this difficult time. Your kindness will help us celebrate her life and ensure that her memory lives on. Thank you for considering helping us honor my mom.
Warm regards,
Hilaria (Hilary) Mejia
