

Born August 17th, 1927 to James Roy and Delta Housand Hattaway, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Survivors include her 3 sons, Bill (Nellie) Martin, Larry (Charlotte) Martin of Leland, Harry (Nancy) Martin of Boiling Spring Lakes; 3 daughters, Jeanette Cumber of Wilmington, Faye Pait and Brenda (James) Bozeman of Leland; 12 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; 11 foster great grandchildren; many loving nieces and nephews; 3 special friends, Lillie Barnes, Nancy Britt and Faye Outlaw Carpenter.
There will be a celebration of her life on Wednesday, April 14th , 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Woodburn where Mrs. Dilda was a member; Rev’s Glenn Kinlaw, S.L. Doty and Andy Ottaway will be officiating. Burial will follow at Oleander Memorial Gardens with pallbearers Bobby Cumber, Keith Cumber, Larry Martin, Gary Martin, James Bozeman Jr., Brandon Bozeman, Joey Darcy, Billy Gore and Namon Batts. She had also retired from Brunswick County School Systems and the family wants to extend a special thanks to the Leland Police “Are you OK” department, Leland Fire and Rescue, 7th floor staff at New Hanover Regional Medical Center and also to nephews John, Brooks, Tommy and Billy for always making sure she had a full bucket for her Lottie Moon Christmas offering.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Home, Oleander Chapel -
