Alice Lewis Laverdure

Alice Lewis Laverdure Alice Faye Lewis Laverdure, 73, of Wilmington, died Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter. Alice was born November 28, 1941 in Burgaw, NC, daughter of the late William Jasper Lewis and Lydia Rivenbark Lewis. She was preceded in death by Richard John Laverdure, Sr., her grandson Jonathan Richard Laverdure, and brother Alton Ray Lewis. Alice was a Pastor's wife for many years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a dedicated and faithful Christian who impacted many lives for the kingdom of God. She is survived by three sons, Richard Laverdure, Jr. (Clarice), Gary Laverdure (Leighann), all of Wilmington, and Bruce Laverdure (Angela) of Burgaw, NC; four grandchildren, Brittany Clark (Aaron), Katie Laverdure, Deven Laverdure, and Austin Laverdure; great-grandchild, Nathan Clark; brother, Ira Lewis (Barbara) of Carolina Beach, NC; sister, Dorothy Butts, and sister-in-law, Dorothy Lewis, both of Wilmington; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, June 28, 2015, at Andrews Valley Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 29, 2015, at Myrtle Grove Evangelical Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jim Glasgow officiating.
