Alice Anne Doddridge Price

Alice Doddridge Price went to her Heavenly Father on Monday, January 25, 2016, at her home surrounded by her family after losing a second round of cancer. She was born November 26, 1941, in Barboursville, WV, to the late Raymond Lee and Sue Preston Burns Doddridge of Milton, W. Va. She graduated from Milton High School in 1959 with honors, and attended Marshall College in Huntington, WV.

She married her husband John Price on November 7, 1959, and raised two sons, David Ray and Josh Morgan.

She started her banking career at Huntington National Bank in Huntington, WV until moving to Wilmington, NC in 1969, where she joined Wachovia Bank until she retired as Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, John; her two sons, David Ray Price and wife Suzanne, and Josh Morgan Price and wife Kristina, all of Wilmington, NC; her sister Lenora Jane Guthrie of Newport News, VA; five grandchildren, David Chase Price of Jacksonville, NC, Brandon Ace Price of Chapel Hill, NC, Martina Helene Price, Skylar Morgan Price, and Liam Hilton Price all of Wilmington, to which she was completely involved with much love; and 5 nephews, 6 nieces and several cousins.

She was a long time member of Pine Valley United Methodist Church where she was a Stephen minister, member of Agape Sunday School Class, Mary Alice Whitfield Circle, United Methodist Women, and a member of the receptionist team.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 6, 2016, at Pine Valley United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends in the church sanctuary from 10:00 a.m. Saturday until the service time.
