She was born February 14, 1929 in the Franklin Township, PA the daughter of the late Leo Wolfe and Bertha Mowery Wolfe.
Mrs. Wheeler was raised in Mount Carmel, PA and Rahway, NJ and graduated from Rahway High School.
She enjoyed bowling, reading, and record keeping and was a former member of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Wheeler retired from real estate appraising.
Mrs. Wheeler was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Wheeler, her son, Earl Allen Darling, Jr., and four brothers, Walter, William, Herbert, and Paul.
Surviving is her daughter, Linda Darling Hartney of Ankeny, IA; a sister, Ruth Franchini of New Jersey; five grandchildren, Amy Metroka, Sharon Hymer, Bryan Hartney, Kim Williams (David), and Kristopher Darling (Gina); eight great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Andrews Mortuary Hampstead Chapel.
