

Ann Robbins Nunnelee, 84, died Monday, March 23rd, 2015 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Center. She was born November 9th, 1930 in Washington, NC to the late Edwin Earl Robbins and Nixie Gibbs Robbins. Preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Lewis Tune Nunnelee II, Ann is survived by three children, Lewis Tune Nunnelee III and wife Rose Marie, Garland Robbins Nunnelee and wife, Sharon, and Nixie Nunnelee Peak, all of Wilmington, NC, as well as five grandchildren, Lewis Tune Nunnelee IV and wife, Gray, Elizabeth Nunnelee Vines and husband Billy, Ann Marie Nunnelee, Latham Conrad Peak II and William Nunnelee Peak and one great grandchild Liza Gray Nunnelee. She is also survived by a brother, Col. Edwin Earl Robbins of Belhaven, NC. Ann, a member of St. James' Episcopal Church, was a devoted wife and mother. She and her husband, Tuney, were Charter members of the Figure Eight Island Yacht Club, and longtime members of the Cape Fear Country Club, Carolina Yacht Club, and Surf Club of Wrightsville Beach. A graveside service will be held Friday morning March 27 at 11:00 am at Oakdale Cemetery for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. James' Episcopal Church or The Domestic Violence Shelter of Wilmington.
