Anne Todd Bolton

Mrs. Anne Todd Bolton went home to be with the Lord October 29, 2018. She was born March 28, 1932 in Wilmington, NC to Walter M. Todd and Jessie Bonner Todd.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton “Corky” Bolton. Mrs. Bolton is survived by her daughters: Pam Bolton of Huntersville, NC and Susan Mundell and husband Mark of Yadkinville, NC; son Hayes Bolton and wife Ronda of Ocean Isle Beach, NC; ten grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Bolton lived a full and active life. She was a Girl Scout leader, Cub Scouts Den mother, Sunday School teacher, MYF Leader, Choir Mother, Art Director in Jr. Sorosis, and President of All Thumbs Garden Club in Lumberton. She began her working career after her children were out of school returning to college at UNC Asheville and graduating from there to begin a 15 year teaching career. She taught 7th and 8th grade and was awarded Teacher of the Year in 1997. She was nominated to “Who’s Who in American Teaching.” After retiring she home schooled three grandchildren through their graduation. Then she was employed at Measurement Inc. in Charlotte for 15 years. During all this time she enjoyed sailing, gardening, crafts, needlework, and most importantly, her family.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm Monday, November 5, 2018 at the First Baptist Church Wilmington, with Pastor David Jones officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery.

Anne was so sweet to me and my family. I will never forget her helping me car pool my kids and Johnathan and Matthew to school each day. That was so sweet for her and I to share this so our kids did not have to deal with the bus each day. She was a strong Christian women and we will miss her.
