She was raised in Burgaw, North Carolina, and later resided in Wilmington.
Annette was preceded in death by her parents, Amy Mattocks Blackmore and William C. Blackmore.
She is survived by her husband, William Ambrose; her son, Alan Ambrose, and daughter-in-law, Natalie Ambrose; and her sister, Marie Wooten.
A memorial service officiated by Tammy McDonald will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at 2:00 PM in the Trinity Landing Auditorium at 5450 Trinity Landing Way, Wilmington, NC 28409.
