She was predeceased by her parents Cyrus and Marie (Rivenbark) Wooten, her husbands, C. D. Grimsley and Ebb Johnson and her granddaughter that she loved dearly, Elisha Cline.
Her gift to the world among other things was her love and ability to care for and teach preschool age children. She kept children for a great deal of her life and her creative ability had them learning by having fun.
In the 1990s, Annette worked to have night time dances for the young people with special needs who attended school with her granddaughter. These proved to be a great blessing for everyone.
She loved to decorate her home elaborately for any holiday.
Annette started a gift bag ministry for her church which truly blessed so many people. She also started the “Wellsprung Group” for the seniors in her church and found enjoyable things for them to do each month.
She is survived by her daughters, Jo Ann Grimsley Cline, Bonnie Grimsley (Ben) Mincey, her grandchildren, Chris (Lauren) Cline, Blair Mincey (Frank) Novello, Brad (Caroline) Mincey. Three great grandchildren that she adored, Elijah and Chloe Cline and Piper Mincey.
The family would like to gratefully thank Trinity Grove for the excellent care and the wonderful “family” she acquired while living there. She spoke highly of you all.
A Graveside service will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at Oleander Memorial Gardens with Pastor Doug Currin officiating.
