Anthony Nicholas “Tony” Theodorakis, 67, passed away August 30, 2024 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Life Care Center following a long illness. He was born August 20, 1957, in Ahoskie, NC to the late Nick and Myra Theodorakis of Raleigh, NC. He leaves behind his wife, Kim, sons John (Amber) and Luke, grandsons Silas and Bodhi, all of Wilmington; brother Greg Theodorakis (Frances) of Kinston, NC, cousin Michael Theodorakis of Lake Waccamaw, NC as well as nieces, nephews and close cousins.
Tony retired with the Wilmington Star News as an advertising sales representative. He was an avid reader, deep thinker and enjoyed a spirited debate. Tony was a lifetime sportsman and was dedicated to outdoor sports as well as the conservation of his beloved North Carolina natural resources. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and baseball and spent his spare time on outdoor adventures with his sons and friends. Tony raised Brittany puppies and trained working dogs all his life. His dogs were well respected family members who were always allowed to ride in the front seat of his truck. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wilmington and a man of integrity and faith. He selflessly took charge of his special needs cousin in Lake Waccamaw in recent years and considered it an honor to have done so. He will be missed by all.
The family would like to thank the many doctors, nurses and medical assistants as well as the Delaney Radiology staff and, most recently, the Hospice Center for the care and kind support rendered over the past 3 years. We would also like to thank our family, friends and church family for your prayers and visits. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Lower Cape Fear Life Center or any North Carolina youth based charity of your choice.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, 9/12/24, at 3pm at Andrews Valley Chapel officiated by the Reverend Jim Everette. The family will receive guests one hour prior at 2pm.
