

B.G. Thrift died peacefully at his home on June 2, 2013. He was 87 years old. Mr. Thrift was a WW II veteran, having served in the Army and was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. He volunteered at the DAV for several years before becoming Commander. He worked for the US Department of Treasury, serving the US Government for 33 years. He was a founding member of Windermere Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Thrift is survived by his wife of 65 years, Nancy Ingle, his son Mark and his wife Barbara, his daughter Graylynn, her partner Diane Trainor, his granddaughters Ashleigh and Emma, and his daughter Holly and her husband Philip DiNapoli, and his brothers Bill and Charles Thrift.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2013 at Windermere Presbyterian Church at 12 noon and will be preceded by visitation at the church from 11 to 12
Mr. Thrift’s family would like to express their gratitude to Millie Walton, Beth Zappin and their staff, and Lower Cape Fear
Hospice Care for their invaluable assistance and support. The family would like to request that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Mr. Thrift’s memory to the DAV Chapter 11or Lower Cape Fear Hospice.
