Barbara Kirby Hardison

She was born on June 12, 1957, in Fort Eustis, VA, the daughter of Margarete Kirby and the late Jesse M. Kirby. Also remembered is a nephew, Joseph Robinson, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Hardison was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt. Before her death Barbara fulfilled her last wish by spending a week at Disney World with her beloved grandchildren. She was retired from Camp Lejeune where she worked at the Naval Hospital in medical records.

In addition to her mother, Barbara is survived by her husband, David Hardison; two sons, Brian Tutherow and wife Allison, and Michael Hardison and wife Lee Ann; one sister, Suzanne Robinson; a niece, Sylvia Robinson; her three grandchildren, Sara, Austin, and Mason; and her canine companion, “Cosmo”.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Andrews Mortuary Hampstead Chapel.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Monday at Blake’s Chapel Advent Christian Church with Pastor Steve Spearing and Pastor E.A. “Buddy” Dowd officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family wishes to express a special note of thanks to all the family and friends that have shown them so much love and support during this difficult time.
