Benjamin Wright Lanier, 63, of Hampstead, NC, died Friday, March 21, 2008 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. Mr. Lanier was born in Duplin Co., NC on May 18, 1944, the son of the late Lloyd Hatch and Ruby Wells Lanier. He was a member of the Topsail Presbyterian Church. Surviving is his wife, Gail H. Lanier of Hampstead, NC; two daughters, Jenny Bethea and husband, Mike and Amy Garner and husband, David all of Hampstead, NC; six grandchildren, Abby, Sarah, and Lilly Garner, David, Wyatt and Hannah Bethea; sister, Rebecca Eaddy of Wallace, NC; his In-Laws, Carl and Luna Heath of Penderlea, NC; sister-in-law, Kay Franzen and husband, Walt of Wilmington, NC; nieces and nephews, Marion Eaddy, Margaret Taylor, Elizabeth Brasher, and Tammie Tart. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 24, 2008 at Topsail Presbyterian Church by Rev. Owen Carriker. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
