We worked with Harold in the 70s and were all best of friends for years. Many hours were spent “mudding” with Harolds 46 Dodge Powerwagon, Jimmy’s “super” Jeep, Skidrows Chevy Blazer & our Toyota Land Cruiser. There were many laughs, stuck vehicles and great memories. Harolds was called The Orange Pumpkin and it would go anywhere. Carefree times. You will be missed our friend. Rest well.

I am so sad to hear of Chief's passing he was truly like a Father to me growing up at the beach. Having the same last name I certainly used it to my benefit at times, he would indulge in my shenanigans as I used the phrase more than once.
" My Dad is Harold Woods, you should not mess with me"

Rest In Peace, Thank you for always looking after us CB kids.
You will be missed.

My condolences to the Woods family.

I was fortunate to have known Chief Woods from an earlier age spending many days down in Carolina Beach. Harold was leaving CBPD when I was starting. I always called him Chief , because he was a leader in everything, no matter what it was. Whether in law enforcement or life, Harold is someone you would want in your corner. I shared many a lunch with him at A&G while policing and had the chance to hear amazing stories while as a policeman and in civilian life. A real Mountain of a man and tuff at times ,but the friendliest soul you'd ever meet. He leaves behinda real legacy and my condolences to Janet, Beth and Family, To His Officers and Friends. R.I.P Chief, thanks for the memories and guidance when I was younger in life and as a rookie learning my way. You always took the time to speak and that is a characteristic that not only made you likeable, but respected In many things. You've earned your wings sir, Heaven is fortunate to have you home!

Chief Woods was a very dear friend and all around great man. There are few people with as big a heart as this man. The world will be a little dimmer without him in our lives. Until we meet again in heaven, Jon Burton.
