Bernice Jones Rich

Bernice Jones Rich, 80, of Wilmington, NC, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 28, 2012. Mrs. Rich had just recently celebrated her birthday surrounded by family and friends. She was born on April 27, 1932, in Brunswick County, the daughter of the late George and Florence Cox Jones. Also remembered is her husband, David L. Rich, who passed away in 2002, five brothers and one grandson who preceded her in death. She was a longtime member of Wrightsboro Baptist Church and was formerly the owner and operator of Cape Fear Truck and Marine Electric. Surviving are three children, Sharon Medlin and husband Otis, Bobby Powers and wife Donna, and David Rich, Jr. and wife Rosemary; seven grandchildren, Fitzgerald Medlin, Dalton Medlin, Scot Powers and wife Regina, Tanya Powers, Mike Rich and wife June, Tim Rich and wife Amy, and Brenda Rich; eleven great-grandchildren; and one brother, Roger Jones and wife Margaret. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel. A funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday at Wrightsboro Baptist Church by Rev. Mike Lewis. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Following the graveside service the family will receive friends at the home.
