

She was born on November 22, 1931, in Robeson County in the city of Fairmont, NC, the daughter of the late John M. Oliver and Thelma M. Oliver.
Mrs. Wadsworth was a 1949 graduate of Fairmont High School, and in 1952 graduated from the Charlotte Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse throughout her life, having worked for Charlotte Memorial Hospital as well as Dr. John Barrett and Dr. John Sensenbrenner, and retired from Randolph Internal Medicine in Charlotte, NC.
Mrs. Wadsworth and her husband, Jack, moved to Southport following her retirement. She was a regular member of and enjoyed activities with the 55 and Over/Senior Cruisers group. She was recognized for her years of service as a Dosher Memorial Hospital Volunteer earning emeritus status; and enjoyed volunteering at her church, Trinity United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Wadsworth was predeceased by her husband, Jack Wadsworth, and her youngest daughter, Marianne Wadsworth. She is survived by her sons, David Wadsworth of Stanley, NC and Bill Wadsworth (Bobbe) of Dallas, NC, and daughter, Dr. Angela Wadsworth of Southport, NC; as well as three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will take place at Trinity United Methodist Church in Southport at 11:00 am on Monday, June 15, 2026, with interment to follow in Forest Lawn West Cemetery in Charlotte, NC at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 16, 2026. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Trinity United Methodist Church in Southport.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to SECU Hospice House of Brunswick, 955 Mercy Lane SE, Bolivia, NC 28422.
