Bessie Andrews Broughton, 93, of Hampstead, NC died on February 3, 2009. She was preceded in death by her parents Leon and Bessie Andrews; her husband, Jack Broughton; her son, Bradley Broughton; sisters, Helen Williamson and Joyce Andrews and her grandson, David Potter. Bessie is survived by her daughter Brenda Potter and her husband Ace Potter; her grandchildren, Mark Potter and Linda Shafer; her sister Jeannine Smith; her brothers, Leon Andrews, Jr. and James Andrews and many nieces, nephews and their children. Visitation will be at the home of Bessie Broughton, Brenda and Ace Potter, 465 Andrews Rd., Hampstead, NC on Thursday, February 5, 2009 from 7:00-9:00PM. There will be a celebration tour of Bessie's life at 7:30PM. Funeral services will be held at Scotts Hill Baptist Church at 11:00AM on Friday, February 6, 2009. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens on Shipyard Blvd, in Wilmington, NC. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Scotts Hill Baptist Church Library.
