Betty J. Denny

Betty J. Denny, 91, of Wilmington, died Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at her residence. She was born January 4, 1924, in Duplin County, to the late Charles and Audrey Sellers Joyner. Betty retired from North Carolina Natural Gas after 29 years of service. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church where she was involved with the Ladies Bible Class and Women on Mission. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Denny; son, Kenneth G. Denny and brother, Charles V. Joyner, Jr. and his wife, Susan Brown Joyner. Survivors include her daughters, Donna Denny Seekford and Kathleen Denny Butler and husband Rayford; grandsons, Kenneth Scott Seekford and Charles Robert Seekford; great-grandchildren, Christopher and Makayla Seekford; one niece; one great-niece and one great-nephew. A funeral service will be held at 2pm, Friday, April 17, 2015, at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel, with Dr. Steve A. Spangler officiating. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1pm. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Temple Baptist Church Music Ministry.
