Betty Gibson

Elizabeth "Betty" Marie Dieterle Gibson of North Topsail Beach, NC, entered into Heaven peacefully on December 20th, 2018 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Center.

Betty was a devoted Wife to a United States Marine, a Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and Friend. Betty lived her life always looking for ways to help others, being a caregiver through dedication to her church family and being an LPN later in life. Betty was proceeded in eternal sleep by her father and mother Louis and Ida Dieterle and husband, Elwood Watson Gibson.

Betty is survived by her three children, Edward Charles Gibson, Edna Jeanne Collins (Dwayne Collins) and Elwood 'Buzz' Watson Gibson II (Amy Gibson); grandchildren, Anne Knight (Joshua Knight), Charles Gibson (Jennifer Gibson), Joel Collins (Stephanie Collins) Brenda Gibson, Jeanne Marie Collins, William Gibson, Alexander Gibson, and Carl Gibson; and five great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00pm Thursday, December 27, 2018, at North Topsail Shores Baptist Church with Rev. Dwayne Collins officiating. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends from 1:00pm until the service hour.
