Betty Brock Harris

Betty Brock Harris, age 93, of Wilmington died peacefully on January 28, 2025 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center surrounded by her family. She was born on March 26, 1931 in Enterprise AL to James W Brock and Chloe Woodham Brock. 

Betty was preceded in death by her husband William D. Harris, Sr. and her eldest daughter Patricia Harris Ham (Larry), along with 5 brothers and one sister. She will be remembered with love by her brother Jerry Brock (Gerda), her son William D. Harris, Jr. (Angie), daughter Camille Harris Sawyer (Paul), as well as her beloved grandchildren Elizabeth Ham Mustin (Marcus), Caroline Harris and Matthew Harris, and great-grandchildren Kirby Mustin and Silas Mustin, as well as her dear Son-in-Law Larry Ham. Betty also created lasting bonds with her many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Betty was a faithful “Air Force Wife,” following her husband’s military career to Columbus OH, Rapid City SD, Atwater CA, and finally settling in Wilmington, making many lifelong friends along the way.  

Above all, Betty treasured her faith and her family. She loved her church family at Pine Valley Church of Christ.

The family would like to thank the staff of Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center, and above all Betty’s home caregivers Audra Campbell, Phyllis Christensen, Marcia Hart, and Vicki Gizowski, who enabled Betty to stay in her home as long as possible. 

A remembrance will be held at the Pine Valley Church of Christ on Friday, February 7 at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pine Valley Church of Christ.
