Mr. Billy L. Edens of Scotts Hill died at his home, on 09/21/2020.
Born in Scotts Hill, on New Year's Day 1936, Billy was the son of the late Willie Harris and Loma Williams Edens. He was preceeded in death by his daughter Kathy Hatfield, and his sister Judy Hartsfield-Cookson.
Surviving are his wife LaVerne, son, Wade (Jean); sister, Joyce, granddaughters Bridget Oakley and Brittany Hatfield, four great-children, and several nephews and nieces.
Billy was a boiler maker by trade. He loved to fish, the ocean, and island life on Ocracoke, his second home. If Billy wasn't at home keeping his yard immaculate, he was in Ocracoke, enjoying the salt air and good friends. Billy will be missed by all who knew him.
Services were held privately for the family.
