Billy G. Rhodes

Billy was born on April 20, 1916 in Scottsville, Va. to the late Robert L Rhodes and Louise Branch Rhodes. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Clara Gales Rhodes.

Billy went to work for City Optical Company as an Optician, where he worked until 1976. He worked for many other doctors in the area until his final retirement in 2005.

He was a loyal member of Winter Park Baptist Church, St Johns #1 Masonic Lodge, Wilmington Scottish Rite, Golden Rod 142 O.E.S. and Sudan Shriners Drum and Bugle Corps.

He is survived by his son, Phillip E. Rhodes (Sherry) of Wilmington; stepson, Tony Moran (Brenda) of Murrels Inlet, SC; and many other family members.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 from 12pm to 1pm at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service. Graveside service will follow at 1:30pm at Greenlawn Memorial Park with Pastor Mark Teachey officiating.

The family would like to thank the staff of Liberty Commons and Liberty Hospice for the care Billy received at their facility.
