Bobbie Odom Laney, affectionately known as ""Miss Bobbie"", received her wings on Sunday, October 2, 2011 in Wilmington, N.C. She was born on June 14, 1948 in Charlotte, N.C. Miss Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis Grady Odom and Sudie Elizabeth Odom. Most commonly known for her warm heart and beautiful smile, Miss Bobbie brightened the lives of everyone she met and loved. Miss Bobbie is survived by her husband of twenty-two years, Mr. George Laney; her three sons, Frank Lee Potter Jr. and Linwood Gainey; Timmy Lee Potter and his wife Debbie; Mitchell Lee Potter and his wife Jennifer. She was blessed with four loving grandchildren, Matthew, Tyler, Maci, and Luke Potter. She is also survived by sisters, Mrs. Virginia Matthews, Mrs. Kay Benson, Mrs. Betty Bowles, and their families; and her brother Johnny Odom. Three stepsons, Mitchell Laney and wife Diana; Dane and Titus Laney and their children; Owen, Jett, and Ale Ann. Private services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to New Hanover Regional Medical Center's Pink Ribbon Foundation.
