Bobbie Lou Smith Newman

Bobbie Lou Smith Newman, 66, of Wilmington, NC, and Myrtle Beach, SC, died Thursday, May 10, 2012, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter. She was born in Cumberland County, NC, on September 23, 1945, daughter of the late Robert Henry Smith and Mary Lou Davis Smith. Mrs. Newman was an active member of Winter Park Baptist Church where she and her husband baby sat for the 2 year old children. She retired after working for many years in the medical field and enjoyed gardening especially growing roses. Surviving is her husband of thirty-one years, Ray H. Newman; a daughter, Ashley Trueblood of Flagstaff, AZ; a granddaughter, Tiffany Trueblood; sister-in-law, Brenda L. Brewer; niece, Candice Brewer; grand-niece, Izzy; aunt, Marguerite R. Eason; numerous cousins and many special friends. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday, May 13, 2012, at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel, 1617 Market Street. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 14, 2012, at Winter Park Baptist Church, 4700 Wrightsville Avenue, Wilmington, with the Rev. Eric Porterfield officiating.
