Bruce Fredrick Allcorn
December 23, 1945 – October 18, 2020
Bruce Fredrick Allcorn, loving brother, uncle, great-uncle, and friend to so many passed away Sunday, October 18, 2020 at the age of 74. Bruce was born December 23, 1945 in Winston Salem, NC to Luther Herbert Allcorn Jr. and Dorothea Adler Allcorn. Bruce was part of the 1963 graduating class of Southwest High School in Clemmons. He served in the Navy and went on to have a successful career in project management at Bahnson, Inc before moving to Charlotte and joining Robertson Airtech. Bruce retired in 2002 and moved full-time to Wilmington. Bruce had a passion for cars. He was a member of the British Motor Club of the Cape Fear and attended many car shows. Bruce loved all animals, especially cats. He was known to rescue strays and he always opened his heart and home to any cats in need. Bruce had an infectious smile and a kind and compassionate spirit. He was always willing to help a friend or stranger, who would then become a friend. He had a quick wit and could effortlessly make you laugh. His sense of humor was one of a kind. Bruce was preceded in death by his mother and father, Dorothea Adler Allcorn and Luther Herbert Allcorn Jr., as well as his brother, Quentin Allcorn. Bruce is survived by his brother, Luther Allcorn III, sister Elsbeth Diehl (Robert Diehl), niece Amber Spencer (Greg Spencer), great-niece Hadley Spencer, and great-nephew Rowan Spencer.
