He was preceded in death by his mother, April Olinger Henderson; his grandparents, Edward Johnson, Sr. and Clevie Johnson; two aunts, Elizabeth Russell and Janie Mix; and one uncle, Edward Johnson, Jr.
He was married to Bobbisue on March 5, 1988, and was married for 36 years. From this marriage, they had their three children, Kathryn, Bruce and Christopher. Of his children, Bruce Jr. married Abigail Varnell. His daughter Kathryn gave him two granddaughters, Ariel and Alice.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for all his life.
He worked as an electrician at New Hanover Regional Medical Center for 20 years before retiring.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Thursday, May 2, 2024, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Wilmington. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 am at the church. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
