Preceded in death by his wife , Margaret " peggy " S. Reavis , a brother Frank D. Reavis of Oregon, eight sisters and nine brothers. Surviving Gary W. Reavis Wife Marlyn of Texas, Sandra R. Privette Husband David, of wilmington, Tamara T. Dietzel husband Dennis of Davidson, NC. Two special grandsons and a daughter-in-law John W. Privette wife Kimberly, Dwight L. Privette . Four other grandchildren and One Great Grandson, several nephews and neices, Sister in-laws Grace Reavis of Oregon, Margaret Simpson of Fairfax, VA.
CL enlisted in the Marine Corp two days after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, his rank was buck sergant, he enjoyed
the times he was stationed in the Hawain Islands, he learned how to sail a boat he really liked that. He married his
wife 1942 while still in the service. After coming home he decided to become a masonary, that led him to have a career in building homes throughout new hanover countiy. CL even moved into one that he had built. He was owner and President of Reavis Homes , Inc. He hold the office of Vice President of the NC Home Builder Association in 1971.
CL loved his family very much, he enjoyed family vacations, and fishing with the family and going up and down the waterways. CL real passion was playing bluegrass music with his grandsons and all his friends up and down the south-
east coast. He decided on day to start a band it was named The Cape Fear Ramblers they were together for over 25 years they had jam sessions at his home for over 20 some years, alot of people would just come and listen, he has touched the hearts and minds of everyone he had come in contact with, his music will be embraced forever. CL taught both his grandsons to play instruments he even made their first ones, they enjoyed all the times they had together, they will both cherish those memories forever. We love you and will miss you.
