Callie Watson Lewis

Callie Watson Lewis 85 of Wilmington went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ July 11, 2010 At Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Lifecare Center. She was born in Wilmington, NC February 3, 1925, daughter of the late Talmadge Memory Watson, Sr and Kitty W. Watson. Callie was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Charles C. Lewis, Sr March 29, 2009 and brother Talmadge Memory Rachel Watson, Jr. She is survived by brother, James J. Ruth Watson; children, Barbara C. L. McKenzie of Charleston, SC, Judy John Sheehan of Hampstead and Charles Lynda Lewis, Jr. of Charlotte. 8 grandchildren, Greg Stacey Hobbs, Sharon Cooke, Mark Hobbs, Angie Brad Wasson, Kelli Mike Conahan, Coy McKenzie, III, Karen Jester, Matt Dianne Lewis; 13 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren who all lovingly call her ?Moo-Moo?. Callie was a sales associate for Belk-Beery for over 20 years. She was a member of Scotts Hill Baptist Church. She will be remembered by her family for her unconditional sacrificial love and care for them. Her goal in life was to honor the Lord by being the wife, mother and grandmother He would have her be. A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 noon July 14, 2010 at Andrews Market Street. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 am until the service hour. Interment will follow at Oleander Memorial Gardens.
