Carl V Wilkins

Carl Vernon “Cooter” Wilkins, age 76 passed away peacefully at the Brunswick Cove Living Center in Leland, NC on Monday April 30, 2012. Cotter was a Carpenter and loved building and repairing. He also was a mechanic. Mr. Wilkins was preceded in death by his parents Dewey Lee Wilkins and Pearl Clayter Wilkins, his companion Betty Pridgen; One son: Carl Wayne Wilkins; Four brothers Burnice J. Wilkins,Tom Wilkins, William Wilkins and Dewey Wilkins, Jr One Sister: Mary Ann Blanton.

Mr. Wilkins is survived by his daughter: Sue Ellis and husband Walton of Delco, NC: Son: Charles Vernon Wilkins and wife Cindy of Delco, NC: Stepson: Martin Pridgen of Delco, NC. Brother: Harold Lee Wilkins of Delco, NC. Grandchildren: Tiffany Wilkins, Linda Sue Parker and husband David, Joshua Ellis and wife Ashley, Allison Ellis, Taylor Ellis, Amber Coleman and husband Chad, Step Grandson Jerry Dean Rabon, Jr.

Great Grandchildren: Lydia Grace Parker, Grace Parker, Austin Parker, David Aaron Parker, Amanda Davis, Emma Ellis, Caitlyn Coleman and Brycen Coleman.

Funeral service for Mr. Wilkins will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday May 3, 2012 at Prosper Baptist Church, Delco, NC with Reverend Eddie Watts and Reverend Calvin Malpass to officiate.

The family will receive friends from 12:00pm - 2:00pm Thursday prior to the service.

Graveside Service and Interment will follow in the Delco Cemetery.

Mr. Wilkins’ body will lie in-state from 8:00 pm Wednesday May 2, 2012 until 2:00 pm Thursday May 3, 2012 at the church.

Friends may visit the family at the home of her son Charles Wilkins.
