Carolyn Jean Barrett of Castle Hayne, NC died Sunday January 4, 2009 at home. She was born May 23, 1953 in Wilmington NC daughter of the late Herbert Leary and Bessie Caddell Weiss and was preceded in death by her brother, Ricky Weiss, step-father Frank Weiss, grandparents, Colon and Nettie Caddell. Carolyn Jean was the Bakery Manager for the Murrayville Lowes Food Store and was a member of Believers Destiny Church. Surviving is her husband of thirty eight years Jimmy Barrett, Sr., sons, Jimmy Barrett, Jr. and Pookie Barrett, grandchildren, Alisha Barrett, Jimmy Barrett III, Alysha Harts and Aaron Harts, sister, Susan Eason and husband Milton, sister Toni Long, step-mother Frances Leary, sister-in-law, Wanda Weiss, ex-daughter-in-law, Lisa William, many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2pm Tuesday January 6, 2009 at Believers Destiny Church. The family will receive friends from 1pm to 2pm Tuesday at the church.
