Carolyn Snow Doty

Carolyn was born October 9, 1934 and raised in High Point NC. She married Rev. SL Doty Jr (whom proceeded her in their heavenly homecoming) December 24, 1953. Carolyn is survived by her brother David Snow (Robyn), 4 children Jennifer (Larry) Thompson, John “Chuck” Doty, Sidney Lee Doty III, and David Doty (Tammy), five grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild along with many other beloved family and friends. 

In addition to her parents and devoted husband Rev. SL Doty Jr, Carolyn was preceded in death by her siblings O.E. Snow, Larry Snow, Marie Holland, Jackie Hauser, and Tim Snow. Her grandson Ronald Thompson and daughter-in-law Andrea “Snooky” Doty.  

Carolyn loved God, her family, history, playing solitaire, reading, bargain shopping and learning. As a student her senior year she received a prestigious Latin award for her studies. She always let her light shine daily in giving everything she had to those she knew, and those who she didn’t. This is especially true in her time as a pastor’s wife, she became a second mother and sister to so many.  She was immeasurably generous with her love, time, and energy. She also made delicious desserts and you knew going to her house you would never be hungry for food, or love.  

Services for Carolyn will be held Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at First Baptist Church of Woodburn in Leland NC. The family with receive friends during a time of visitation at 12pm this will precede the 1pm funeral service. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Good Shepherd Hospice in Sebring FL.
