Carroll D. Bird, Jr., 77, of Hampstead, went to be with his lord May 27, 2013. Carroll, a Navy veteran of the Korean War, a graduate of John Hopkins and University of Baltimore and an alternate captain of the Presidential yacht, Sequoia. Carroll is survived by his loving wife Barbara; four daughters, Laura Doyle, Cheryl Schneider, Cynthia Kuhn and Barbara Devalle; twelve grandchildren; and four great grandchildren, and a brother Jim Bird. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, May 30, 2013 at the Hampstead United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM until service time. Interment will follow at 2 PM in the Coastal Carolina Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville with military honors.
