Cecil R. Johnson

He was born on September 17, 1935 in Wilmington, NC, the son of the late Jarvis Alderman Johnson and Flora Pearl Shepard Johnson. Also remembered are two sisters, Doris Strickland and Jane Pickell; and a brother, Carl V. Johnson, all of who preceded him in death.

Surviving is his loving wife of over 59 years, Lucille Johnson; one daughter, Tina Coleman and husband Robert “Mitch” Coleman of Hampstead, NC; one son, Frank Johnson of Castle Hayne, NC; three grandchildren, Zachary Adam Coleman, Kelli Michelle Coleman and Hunter Lee Johnson; and one sister, Pearl Hobbs of Tampa, FL.

Cecil was a 32 year veteran of the US Navy and was a retired machine operator with Federal Paper Company. He was a member of Blake’s Chapel Advent Christian Church.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Blake’s Chapel Advent Christian Church followed by a funeral beginning at 2:00 pm with Rev. Steve Spearing officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Blake’s Chapel Advent Christian Church.
