Mr. Cecil Lavern Reese, age 87 of Castle Hayne died Monday, November, 26, 2018. He was born July 24, 1931 to Claude L. Reese and Luvincy Dukes Reese.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his sister, Naomi Reese; brothers: Aaron Reese, IL Reese, Hoyt Reese, Howell Reese and Terrell Reese.
Mr. Reese was a beloved family man who loved yard work and traveling. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. In addition to Mr. Reese’s service in the military , all of his brothers also served.
Mr. Reese is survived by his wife Betty Reese of the home; sons: Eddie Reese and wife Debbie of Burgaw and Curtis Reese and wife Debbie of Wilmington; daughters: Janice Stokley and husband Mike of Hampstead and Vickie Wilson and husband Russell of Wilmington; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; brother Earl Reese and sister Margaret Bullard.
A Visitation will be held from 12PM until 1:30PM on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Coble Ward- Smith Funeral & Cremation Service. A Graveside Service will immediately follow at 2PM at Oleander Memorial Gardens with full Military Honors.

Laverne was such a good man. I still remember when Roy, baby Mark I stayed with you for a while. Laverne like you always made us feel at home. It is such a terrible thing losing someone that is so wonderful & means so much to his family & all who had the pleasure of being his friend. My heart hurts for all of you. God Bless You.
