Charles Benjamin "Ben" Roberts

Charles Benjamin “Ben” Roberts of Wilmington, NC, faded into the hands of our Lord on Saturday, January 12, 2008, while in the arms of his loving wife, Thelma W. Roberts. Ben was raised in Raleigh, NC, and a Navy veteran of World War II prior to marrying Thelma Weeks of Rocky Mount, NC. They moved to Wilmington in the early 1950’s. Ben was the loving father to two children, son; Charles B. Roberts, Jr. of Mooresville, NC and daughter, Dedra R. Thomas of Nokesville, VA, and “PaPa” to six grandchildren; also a brother, Eugene H. Roberts and a sister, Edith Lynn Crocker both of Raleigh, NC. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel, Wilmington, NC by Rev. Mark Teachey. Interment will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel. A special thanks from the family goes to caretaker, Lorna Pettitt of Holly Ridge, NC, Adult Day Care Services of Wilmington and Davis Health Care Center, for all the loving care provided over the years. Ben loved you all.
