Charles Cornelius “Case” Leeuwenburg, of Wilmington passed away peacefully Friday, July 5, 2019 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice after suffering heart complications. He was born in Wilmington, NC on 03/07/1942 to the late Cornelius and Margaret Forlaw Leeuwenburg. He served in Vietnam and retired from GE after a long career. His passion was mechanics and his memorable hobbies include being on the Pit Crew for AJ Foyt’s racing team.
Case is survived by his daughter, Christa Dean, and grandsons, Thomas, Myers, and Townsend Dean; also sisters, Ann Magill, Johanna Allen, Mary Sheffield, and many nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held on Sunday, August 11th at Oakdale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorials to be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice or a charity of their choice.
