

He was born on October 3, 1964, to SGT, David C. Criswell and Priscilla King Criswell in El Paso, Texas. Charles lived in Brickstone Estates in Wilmington, NC.
Charles is preceded in death by his father, SFC, David C. Criswell; grandparents, Weldon and Eslee Criswell of Texas, and James and Frances King of Wilmington; aunts, Betty Joyce and Carolyn; uncles, Don Criswell and Michael Wayne Smith; and his best friend, Bland Gillikin, who passed away on August 5, 2019.
He is survived by his mother, Priscilla King Criswell; sisters, Julia (Mike) Smith of Leland, and Beverly Criswell of Supply; uncles, Bo King of Wilmington and Doug (Darla) Criswell of Texas; aunt, Brinda King of Wilmington; great aunt, Mary Rabon of Wilmington; great uncle, Jimmy (Gail) Faulk of Wilmington; nieces, Rose Mize and Holly (Daniel) Harrelson; nephew, Travis Mize; great nieces: Lilly Massey, Aubrey Harrelson, Zaylee Massey and Sophia Harrelson; great nephews: Tyler Massey, Tanner Mize and Brayden Harrelson; and many cousins in Texas, North Carolina and Tennessee whom he love dearly.
Charles loved his companion of 21 years, Ms. Kathy Smith and her children, Amanda, Sarah and Camden.
He worked as a tile setter. At 16, Charles started working for Joe Setter and later went to work for his great uncle, Clarence Faulk. Charles was a Dallas Cowboys and North Carolina Tar Heels fan, he loved country music and Icehouse beer. Some of his favorite times were fishing and camping at Pisgah & Davidson River Campground with Kathy. Charles had the ability to make everybody smile with his stories and jokes. Everyone that knew him has a story to tell about him. Charles also had a cat named, Toby that he had many serious conversations with at the table. We sure hope they find each other.
Visitation will be held on Friday August 16, 2024 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at Coble Funeral and Cremation Service at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 1155 Shipyard Blvd, Wilmington, NC 28412.
Funeral Service will start at 2:00pm in the Coble Chapel. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
