Charles "Dick" Darrell Rushing

Charles “Dick” Darrell Rushing, of Wilmington, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2015. Born in Portsmouth, VA, he was the son of Doris Rivenbark Casey of Rocky Point NC and Alexandria, VA and the late Charles Rushing, and was the husband of the late Nancy Rushing.

Dick was a graduate of Fort Union Military Academy where he played basketball. He always had a great joke to tell, especially at family reunions, loved entertaining and being around people as he was truly a people person.

He is survived by his two sons, Casey Rushing of Wilmington, Scott Peterson Rushing of Alexandria, VA; and two step sons, Charles and Anthony Franks of Wilmington.

A visitation will be held Sunday, September 13, 2015 from 6-8pm at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service, 3915 Oleander Drive, Wilmington. Funeral Service Monday at 11am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Riley’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Rocky Point.
