Charles Royal Hayes

     It is with great sadness that the family of Charles Royal Hayes announces his passing on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at the age of 81 years.  Royal will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 61 years, Doris, and his daughter Julie (Lee) Kania.  Royal will be forever remembered by his four grandchildren, Sharon (Philip) Taggart, Cris (Anna) Kania, Ken Kania and Elizabeth Kania; and by his four great grandsons.

     The youngest son of the late Ernest H. and Ethel M. Hayes, Royal is survived by his brother, Willie S. Hayes, and sister, Ruby (Bill) Parker.  He was predeceased by his brothers Bill, Robert, Jesse, and David, and his sisters Margaret Batson and Julia Croft.

     An avid fisherman, Royal loved to fish in the local rivers and took great pleasure in introducing his grandchildren to the sport. He was a member of Hood Creek Hunting Club and a life member of Manley-Reece-Long VFW Post 2573.  Royal was blessed with a kind and giving heart, sensitive to the needs of others.

Visitation at Andrews Mortuary, Market Street Chapel from 1-2pm on Thursday, June 22; followed by service at 2pm with Rev. Josh Greene officiating.

Interment with military honors will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
