

Mrs. Charlotte Long Guyton , 75, passed away Sunday, December 5, 2010 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center surrounded by her loving family. Charlotte was born on April 1, 1935 in Wilmington, N.C to the late William Ardell and Lillie Dell Long. She was preceded in death by sons Michael and Glenn Guyton, sisters Betsy Rivenbark and Faye Williams. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, William Earl Guyton, Sr., son William Earl Guyton, Jr. Vanessa, daughter-in-law Debra, brother William Billy Long, sister Margaret Piner, seven grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed the simple things in life such as caring for her flowers and garden. Most of all, she adored all of her grandchildren and seemed to believe that it was her duty to dote on them constantly. She was a member of Pine Valley Baptist Church and the Esther Sunday School Class. Memorial services will be held at 2 P.M. Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at Pine Valley Baptist Church, 3940 Shipyard Blvd with Rev. Chuck Love officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Steve Guyton, Michael Guyton, Jr., Glenn Guyton, Chuck Skipper, Dennis Rivenbark and Sonny Wells. Honorary pallbearers are the Esther Sunday School Class of Pine Valley Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, December 7 at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel . The family would like to express their deep gratitude to the staff at Spring Arbor Assisted Living and Lower Cape Fear Hospice for the excellent care provided during Charlotte's extended illness. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1414 Physicians Drive , Wilmington, N.C. or Pine Valley Baptist Church.
